Nicole is a health economist and doctoral candidate at UC Berkeley. Her research examines the impact of early life investments and much of her work focuses on the child welfare system. Her research shows how payments to foster caregivers shape quality of care and documents sources of biases in child protective services. Her other ongoing projects examine school-based interventions to combat the obesity epidemic and the long-term impact of non-cognitive skill development in adolescence. She holds a MS from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a BS from Georgetown University.
